Hello & Welcome!

My name is Janhavi. I am a licensed massage therapist and the “sole provider” here at Ashland Ashiatsu.

If you are seeking grounding, transformational bodywork you’ve come to the right place.

My expertise is in Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage, where I use my feet to address your unique aches and pains. With the aid of a secure overhead bar system, I leverage gravity and body weight to deliver broader and more fluid strokes with my feet.

Using deep myofascial barefoot strokes, stretching and movement, I am going to help relieve your discomfort whether it’s caused by stress, poor posture or injury.

My goal is to facilitate your achievement of freedom, flow and balance within your body-mind that translates to every area of life.

I look forward to meeting you!

~ Janhavi

Aside from my massage practice, I’m also a single mother of a bright and artistic teenage daughter. I regularly partake in weightlifting, yoga, and hiking and am an avid student of self-healing and pain prevention, having learned a lot from my own injuries.

FAQ

  • The term "Ashi" in Japanese means foot, while "Atsu" translates to pressure. Ashiatsu DeepFeet Bar Therapy is a technique in which the therapist deliver deep, broad, and consistent pressure using their feet and body weight. By working with gravity instead of against it, the therapist can provide an effective therapeutic massage that minimizes pain or discomfort.
To ensure a fluid and relaxing experience, cream or oil is applied to the client's body during this deep therapeutic massage. Parallel bars are utilized above the massage table to maintain balance, provide support, and ensure client safety.

  • A certified deepfeet therapist exercises extra caution with clients with specific health conditions due to the unique compressive nature of ashiatsu barefoot massage. Listed here are just a few conditions that make ashiatsu massage inadvisable. Nevertheless, certified therapists possess comprehensive knowledge of all contraindications related to ashiatsu and are adept at tailoring their approach to meet each client’s unique needs.

  • Ashiatsu massage offers multiple benefits, including pain reduction, improved mobility, flexibility, and posture. Additionally, it helps stimulate the lymphatic system, release bundled nerves, and provides a deep massage experience without the discomfort often associated with traditional deep massages.

  • For an optimal Ashiatsu session, it is recommended that clients undress completely. However, you have the freedom to undress to your comfort level. To ensure a seamless and effective session, it is important to be able to smoothly glide from head to toe without any fabric obstruction. Rest assured that you will always be appropriately draped with a sheet and blanket, with only the specific area being worked on left uncovered. Your privacy and comfort are of utmost importance, and you will never be exposed inappropriately.
